I decided to wean my little girl early as she was so hungry - she loved it! We stuck at baby rice for a while and then about 3 weeks ago moved to purees. She is 23 weeks old. She was loving it and gained weight last week. I have also started giving formula 3 x a day and breastfeed twice as I would like to have finished with breastfeeding by 6 months.
All was great and meal times a joy but the last week it has been awful - she is refusing food, is struggling to take her bottles and just does not seem interested. This week she stayed the exact same weight. I am quite beside myself.
She has not been the most settled baby with colic and reflux but after 3 months this all subsided and once the food started we were getting 12 hours at night and had a joyful baby. Last night we got sleep for the first time in a long time but she did not eat much this morning and has now been asleep for another 1.5 hours.
I really am at a loss and the HV I saw at clinic just said do not worry but I cannot stop worrying and at times we have had wailing of 2 hours at night when she does not want food, water or even cuddles. Have tried everything but seems like back to square one. She does want to eat by herself though and last night was ramming the spoon in her mouth and eating off her hands! Is it too early to try more finger foods?
Any help much appreciated as I feel as if I am loosing my mind and doubting everything.
