just wondering what I can give for breakfast today - is there any reason why I can't give shreddies? (thought they'd be good easy pick up)

They are fine but just watch out for the sugar and salt - I think there is 0.3g salt in a whole serving, (under 1 year should only have 1g per day)

Mini shredded wheats are good, no sugar or salt

thanks. I gave her some and she loved them. I'll try the mini shredded wheats though (hate them with a passion myself so will see if there's a small box)

Try Weetabix, some have said that shreddies are too high in bran for babies but weetabix is good, my boy has eaten one weetabix and milk for breakfast since he was 5 months ( now 9.5months) and loves it, even the word is amusing!

surely as an occassional/regular, rather than a daily, cereal shreddies are fine ?

My DS has shreddies most mornings and he loves them - I find the supermarket own brands are higher in salt than the branded ones, but he's had both without problems. Now 11 months, he's enjoyed them since he could pick them up around 7 months.
