Our supermarket had some great offers on fresh fish. I was planning to make a fisherman's pie - with prawns. Would this be ok for DD (9months) ...?

Well, I would.

i dont see why not as long as they are cooked properly.

I let DS eat prawns freely at 8 months - then discovered that it's not particularly recommended, but I don't know why.
I would have thought it would be fine as long as they are cooked through.

I think the cautiousness is because shellfish are a common allergen. For that reason I didn't do prawns till two.

As well as the allergy issue, I think its because they also commonly cause food poisoning if even only slightly iffy, that it is recommended that they are avoided until after 12 mos.

Thanks ... decided to err on the side of caution. I'm making two - one with prawns for me and dp; the other without for DD!
