well if its any consolation I want to poop everytime I eat breakfast ha ha ha.

seriously though unless he's straining (more than usual) or sore and you say his poop is normal, I wouldn't worry. My youngest weaned early and did the same thing.

Not nice smell though when you're feeding!

It's normal - promise!

Happy changing

It's too early for solids according to the guidelines. You should ideally wait until 6 months.

That aside, it is normal for babies to poo when they feed. Apparently they used to make highchairs with a commode included to take advantage of this! Don't worry.

Bugger guidelines -

They are there for the guidance of wisemen and the adherence of fools.

dd no3 was totally ready for solids (mainly weetabix - no wonder she pooped).

Mind you she is now 6 foot tall and she's still only 6

You do what you like scooby.

Fool you may think me but I'm keen to ensure my dcs are as healthy as possible.

I'm sure you know weetabix has added sugar and salt?

ruddynorah · 28/05/2010 19:38

i wouldn't be giving weetabix to a 4.5 month old.

scoobydoolady · 28/05/2010 19:39

well all I can is they look healthy to me.

They eat their chips with fervour and brush their teeth at least once a week.

They are rather partial to ice cream at breakfasy time too!

oh lighten up all of you its friday.

Don't fret my children are pictures of health - no need to report me to the Social Services just yet.

Its just there is so much stuff out there confusing mums when we should let them do what is best for their child at the timne they feel is right - even first time mothers have an instinct about these things.

And by the way I meant rusks (with no added sugar, salt, plutonium, algae, etc etc)

couldn't agree more scooby. 6 months is WHO guidelines but the Paediatric Dietetic Association has concluded that introducing solids at 4 months does not increase risk of allergies etc as previously thought. At the end of the day you can tell when your baby is ready.
