omeprazole

I know the weaning section seems like an odd forum to post this but I figured lots of mums with LO's with reflux tend to visit.

I have a quick question.
Are any of you using omeprazole for reflux?

We are and although it really helps we are having great difficulty getting it.
The doctors can't put it on repeat as the computer says no and it takes 4 days to order from the pharmacy. Then once you have got it, it only lasts a week!! so the whole process starts again.

Anyone else having similar issues, or not?
or, how did you solve the problem?.

Sorry this is a little inappropriate but don't know who else to ask.

We are on omeprazole too. I've only repeat-ordered it once so far, but it lasts us 4 weeks! Are you getting the Losec MUPS? You get 4 sheets of 7 tablets on each box. If not, do ask for it. You cut a tablet to size (each tablet is 10mg: 1mg/kg), dissolve it in a drop of water on a spoon and shovel it in. SO much easier than mouthwash ranitidine!

Thanks, GP FINALLY agreed to the MUPS. Much better
