Help fatten up my DS!

Wondered if anyone could suggest some nice healthy recipes to help my little 16 month old DS put on a bit of weight. He has CP and is very tiny and struggles to put on weight - below 2nd centile last time he was weighed - and has just had a nasty tummy bug for a week so will no doubt have lost more weight and I doubt he is even on the scale now. However he really enjoys his food, is not fussy at all. Going to try and get him referred to dietician to see if they can give him some high cal milk or something, but this could take ages so wondered if anyone had suggestions in the meantime. I make most of his food although occasionally give him one of those organic ready made things eg Ella's kitchen.

Also how big is a normal toddler meal at this age? I find it v difficult to know if I am giving him the right amount.

Thanks!

My dd was like this and still is now. She is 3.5 now and I have just taken the 9-12 month trousers out of her wardrobe yesterday, purely on length reasons too! I can still carry her in the sling.

She has never been on the chart and we used to go to the hospital every three months and they always, always said "give her food in a cheese sauce". I just want to tell you not to worry, my dd is so tiny, but she is fine and a good eater. Not fussy either like your ds. and my dd1 is a good size.

I used to give her duck and lamb a lot, especially in a casserole and real custard with the eggs and cream. Yum. Reduce the recipe so that you can make it with one egg and give him some custard every day. Home made ice-cream can be good too. I used to give her a lot of avacado when she was a baby but you are past that stage now I suppose.

Thanks - my DS still fits a few of his 3-6 month clothes I have never made custard properly - will have to learn! Give him those ambrosia ready made pots occasionally but I guess they're not v good for him.

Avacados! Full of good fats. My DD will have have a whole one (medium size) blended with milk and a pouch of Ellas Kitchen Peaches n Bananas, it tastes soo yum.

She's tiny too, just about above the 2nd centile at 8months. She's a good eater too (well, she goes through phases) but just puts on the weight at a slow pace, Im not worried though as she's never lost weight, just puts in on slowly.
