Hi

Just wondered what type of bread you started your dc on? I'm not a fan of bread and my dh eats bread with seeds etc so don't think that's suitable.

I started mine on white then used the 50/50 or best of both breads and now they eat wholemeal with no bits in.

Whatever we had in the fridge at the time - probably wholemeal with bits on

PItta is good as it doesn't go all squashy like shop-bought.

I feed my 7 months-old brown bread with seeds (i.e. Vogel) as well as dark German Rye bread (organic), which she absolutely loves. I cut off the crust and put houmous, cottage cheese, avocado or plain unsalted butter on the bread slices.

In my experience soft white bread sticks to my babys gum and she finds it harder to swallow. The rye bread sort of crumbles in her mouth and she can swallow the bits.

Pitta and rye so far - white toast squidged and rejected.

I give dd seeded/Harvest Grain breads and have since she was 8 months, she loves it.
