Have I read somewhere (on here, BLW book?) that baby girls should only have 2 portions of fish a week? Or is it a certain type of fish? Have lent out my book so can't check it there. My DD LOVES fish! Perhaps it's oily fish? Thanks for any help.

You're meant to avoid shark/marlin/swordfish etc because of the mercury levels

the FSA say only 2 portions of oily fish a week in pregnancy but doesn;t mention limiting it for children

white fish (cod, haddock, pollack etc) and tinned tuna are all fine.

the maximum recommended portions of oily fish is 2 for girls and women who may have a baby one day and also if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Men and boys and women who arent going to have children can have up to 4 portions.
