Refusing everything except yoghurt

DS is 11months and has just had a nasty bought of v and d but has been okay for a week now but since then he has refused all his favourite foods except ready brek and yoghurt. With some things he is happy to pick things up and stuff them in his mouth then he methodically chews it and spits it out. Is this just a phase? Is some going in? DH thinks I shouldn't keep offering him diffent things as he either spits them out or throws them over board but I'm not convinced he will understand the tough love approach!
In the meantime do I just do ready brek and yoghurt for all 3 meals?!

I would do the normal things you would offer so a main meal savoury thing and then yogurt. I would give ready brek at night to fill him up.

Ds had a tummy bug at 23m and it took him months to get over it.

Thanks, will persevere is just disheartening!

the little poppet might have a sore throat as my ds does the same when he has a bad throat.
sometimes we try proper meal interspersed with yoghurt. sometimes he'll be tricked into eating what he didn't want!
also you could try gong back to puree as it's so much easier to swallow for sore throats.

mrs flux
I did think about a sore throat but am not convinced particularly with the way he stole a chunk of my malt loaf and chomped that down complete with nom nom nom noises!
Fraid we never did purees but tried soup at lunch and that was a no go to. Just want to get some fruit and veg in him.

We've got this atm with DS2 who is 10m. In the past few weeks he's cut three teeth and had two bouts of D+V so been right off his food (would previously eat anything).

I am offering easy-to-swallow stuff like baby pasta in sauce, leek & potato puree etc, along with breadsticks/bits of sandwich/toast to dip in them. Then a yoghurt and/or banana. It's hit and miss whether he eats anything at a meal but I'm hoping he'll pick up again when he feels better.

Good to know I'm not the only one going through this. Can't see or feel anymore teeth and haven't had any telltale drooling as yet. Unfortunately I think DS must be alone in his absolute refusal to contemplate banana. Will keep plodding on and raiding the fridge for exciting things and not succumb to malt loaf!

Another one in the same boat.

DS (almost 8 months) had D&V for around 48 hours a couple of weeks ago and his appetite hasn't been the same since. He just wants milk and sloppy foods like yoghurt with fruit puree and Organix banana porridge. He refuses all other purees (whether homemade or in a jar) and all finger foods. I've lost count of the amount of time I've wasted peeling and pureeing and the amount of untouched puches/jars I've thrown away. It's so disheartening because he was such an enthusiastic eater and now (maybe consequently) after so many months of also being a great sleeper, he's waking in the middle of the night for milk too
