1st food today - very unhappy tonight

I gave DS 3 tiny spoons of pureed carrot today. He is 6 months corrected (was 9 wks premature). He has screamed for 1+ hour tonight which is very unusual and seems to have the symptoms of a sore tummy.

I know its probably normal to have a period of adjustment as he has just had b/f and f/f so far.

Question - Do I carry on with carrots tomorrow or go for baby rice or something else. (I was told by paediatrition (sp?) to go straight to veg not via baby rice).

Thanks!

I went straight to carrot puree with dd, and that evening she sobbed I had to rub her tummy while she fell asleep. I felt terrible, so decided to have a think about what to do next.

We decided BLW would be the best option, let her lead the way, and we haven't looked back - no purees, and no sobbing!

Not sure if that is the answer you were hoping for, but I think BLW is great

I would also second going for Baby Led Weaning. We did it and DS is now a great eater (14 months). They don't seem to eat much at first, but they soon pick up the skills, and it's really fun to see them enjoying their food.
It's also so much easier than doing purees IMO.
