When my ds used to wake up i used to give him juice or water in the night,

what food have you tried with her as you didnt specify?

i started ds on reaaaally milky baby rice at 5months before his last feed

What did you do with DD1 to wean her? Some babies are really enthusiastic about weaning and will just grab at any food.

I think the idea of really milky baby rice is good, or very smooth purees. It's a bit difficult to say what to do without a bit more information.

Was your DD2 prem at all? If so then try looking at things from her corrected age and see whether it would be a sensible time to wean.

If you don't feel she is ready then I would leave it a bit - she won't be harmed by not having solids yet. Try again in a few weeks.

sort of blw i did with dd1, i don't want to go down the puree route.
i tried, rice, peas, potato, sweet potato, bread, naan...

Definitely leave it then if you want to go the BLW route. Wait until she can sit up a bit better - FWIW DS didn't sit until about 9 months but could sit up for fairly long periods at 5 months in a fisher price booster seat (they come with a tray so we used this as a highchair from the beginning)

frakkinaround · 16/02/2010 12:09

Agree leave it if you want to follow BLW. She doesn't sound 'ready' for normal food so purees would be the only real option if you desperately wanted to wean, but you don't want to do purees and she'll be fine without them for a while.

Offer it occasioanlly but don't push it.

Good luck!
