BLW started at 5mo - is this ok?

DS kept grabbing at our food, so we have been offering him fruit and veg, carrot sticks, sweet potato, green beans, banana, strawberries. He seems to be loving it. Is this ok?

I was planning to keep to fruit and veg til 6 months, and then go for everything. Have I been very naughty, have I damaged my son for life?

Well, I'm doing exactly the same so we can fret together...

Our gastric paed told us to go ahead at 5 months. DD is eating loads! 2 weeks to go till we go for a bit more variety!

Thank God!

DS is attacking food with gusto

We are having to hold the food sometimes, most of the time he manages it himself though. We are offering lunch and dinner, should we do breakfast too?

He seems to be coping really well with any lumps, he just gags a bit, spits it out and then tries for more food. Such a change from the DDs who got hysterical when I rtied to introduce them to lumps.

Howdie.ALso waiting to be shot by weaning police. We started at 5mo and just included DD at each meal. She will be 6mo tomorrow and we have just started introducing dairy. But she has had some fish/chicken/sausage/red meat...oops.Not veggie (yet)

Great fun!

Enjoy!

Oh, ditto holding v slippy foods/fruits. Then nearly got shot by BLW purists

I haven't been holding anything for DD. She's very keen to find ways of doing it for herself! Bit her thumb today though (2 teeth) and really cried! No problems with gagging so far, she just deals with it.
