Baby vomiting up tea and bedtime milk feed - help

DD is nearly 9 mnths. She took a while to get in to solids but has been eating pretty well until recently. Seems a bit off her food at present - I think she is cutting her top two front teeth at present which may explain it a bit. Am feeding hypoallergenic formula 3 times a day as am back at work 4 days a week and BM has dried up.

Sat evening and this evening I was just about to put her in her cot to sleep and she threw up what looked like all her milk and some of her tea. She only took 3 or so oz this evening out of a 7oz bottle and I was covered in sick.

This has not been a regular thing and she is generally fine at all her other meals, no vomiting. Feeds run like this usually:

7am - 7oz formula (takes most of it)

8.30 - breakfast - soya yogurt and fruit or weetabix, fruit and soya milk

11am - lunch, usually protein and veg and a fruit pudding if she wants it

2.30 - 7oz formula (takes most of it)

5.30 - tea. Usually veg/carb based. Has been eating v little at this feed in recent days.

6.30 - 7oz formula - again has cut right back on this feed.

I wonder if we need to cut back her 2.30 feed so she is hungrier in the evening, maybe she is still a bit full from that and so extra solids and milk mean she is just taking too much. I never force her to eat her solids at tea or take her bedtime milk, she only has what she wants and started her milk quite enthusiastically this evening but slowed down very quickly.

As I say she doesn't vomit after every meal and doesn't even vomit every evening but I am concerned by two evenings of sick in quick succession. Wonder if her tea and bedtime milk are too close together but it is difficult to feed her tea before 5.30 as can't get home from nursery before then on 4 days a week she goes there and I want to keep her routine consistent from day to day, if I leave her bedtime milk after 6.30 she is almost asleep and is too tired to drink it, she usually falls asleep by 6.45 most days.

Nursery give tea to the other babies in her room at 3pm - I feel it is too long between then and bedtime milk for her to manage without getting hungry but wonder if she should have tea then and just milk before bedtime.

She is cow's milk allergic (GP thinks) so can't give milky puds or mains but give soya at home for breakfast. Vomiting isn't food allergy related as all foods are things she's had before and been fine with.

Any thoughts welcome

Maybe she's too full as you think? Cut back on solids possibly? Worth a try.

As both occasions have not been in succession, I'm assuming she's not ill.

In regards to teeth I always recommend teething gel before food if it means they'll not be in so much pain whilst trying to feed, as then they'll be happier and eat better.

She probably won't take a full bottle at bedtime with tea time only 1 hour before, perfectly normal.

Maybe bring her teatime forward a bit? Formula is heavier than bm so that combined with her tea - and teething pain, might be upsetting her tummy. Just a thought - not an expert

I meant upsetting her tummy if too close to bedtime (lying down with full tummy)
