I have been doing blw for the last 3 months he is now 9 months eats everything and anything offered, the other day he had some red kidney beans and my friend went mad and said he should not have them, she said children should not have them?? I would just love some advise as he loved them. Thanks in advance.

They're sometimes not so easy to digest that's all. As far as I know it's fine to give them, as long as you have washed and cooked them well and they are a good source of protein.
Never heard of children not being allowed to have them - mine all do!

Thought I'd better check seeing as I was the only person who replied but from what I have read (Annabel Karmel, Foods agency etc) it seems that pulses are fine, without exception and just not to be alarmed if they pass through your baby's body undigested as they cannot fully digest them until they're about 2 yrs old.
My 2 yr old ds loves kidney beans in chilli sauce - imagine your friend might be a bit at that

Mine have always loved kidney beans, although they can come out whole in the nappy . Not as bad as sweetcorn in the nappy though - DH always had to change those, the very sight of them made me want to vomit! (is this TMI?)

I hated the sweetcorn in nappy scenario too - blee! Raisins too, sometimes.
