BLW - when to introduce a plate?

DD is going great guns at her food but if I dare to try to make the whole experience look a bit more civilised and present her food on a plate rather than slopping it straight onto the tray she just lifts the whole lot up, tries to eat the plate and then slings it on the floor.

I tried one of those tommee tippee suction mats and she's already figured out how to lift the little flap to break the suction so that was a waste of money!

She's 8 months now so how much longer do you think she'll be eating like such a savage?

DD is 12 months and will now eat nicely off a plate or out of a bowl and has been doing for a little over a month I think. I just kept trying it every now and then and eventually one day it clicked that the plate isn't food and it is much more sensible to leave it alone so you can eat your food!
We're now working on cutlery....
