I blame the sweetcorn!

DS (9 months) had a terrible night last night, waking every 2 hours and sounding to be in great distress. On reflection, I think it was the sweetcorn he had earlier in the day. I thought it was a good food for him - small and easy to handle but have just read that because it is hard to digest it should be broken down a bit. Feeling a bit bad and felt I should share my experience. I hadn't read anywhere that this reaction might be expected. He had a curry for lunch today which hopefully will clear out his digestive system

Sometimes babies have hard time to digest sweetcorn, peas or lentils. Exclude sweetcorn from his diet, try again in some time and see his reaction. Good luck.

DSs never had a problem with sweetcorn when they were small - however I did as it always reappeared entirely undigested which make me feel vaguely queasy .

So, yes, slightly mash with fork or blend as it is full of goodness if they could only break it down.

Hope your LO is ok and the result of the curry is not too horrendous .

he slept fine last night and appears much happier - I think DH got the curry nappy .

Have Annabel Karmel cookbook and it includes some sweetcorn recipes for babies between 9 and 12 months.
Read on internet to be careful with it - will try again later but will break it down a bit more.

thanks for comments
