Does anyone know anything about delaying cow's milk if there is asthma in the family?

Someone mentioned to me on another thread that she delayed the introduction of cow's milk til 12 months due to asthma and eczema in the family but I hadn't heard about it before and googling doesn't really bring up anything definitive.

Does anyone know if this is recommended? Also is there any point if baby has already been exposed to cow's milk through formula?

Bump. I was just going to write a similar post.

Never heard of that. Nuts yes, but not milk. I had asthma as a child, then during my teens, and there is a history on my Dad's side. DS is almost 1 and had eczema as a very young baby. I drank cows milk from under 1 and DS has had it on cereal since 6 months.

I think the advice is to delay cow's till age 1 as it lacks all the added vitamins of formula.

meant to add that you should ask your HV as she will know the correct guidelines.
