Bunged up 6 month old

Sorry if this is a topic that has been done to death but only just found this area!

My DD is just over 6 months and is properly bunged up - poor little thing hasn't gone for about three days which I know isn't that unusual but she seems very very uncomfortable and has griping pain, I think.

Am going to grab some prunes in the morning as have heard they have pretty speedy results but do I need to strain the 'skins' out or do I just need to make sure they are well blended up. DD has tried lumpy purees but will need them fairly smooth or she might not take it.

Anyone got any other ideas as well with simple ways to help get things moving without visiting the GP - although am happy to if this is the general consensus.

Thanks all

dried apricots had a spectacular laxative effect on DS

either pureed or chopped and eaten

prunes or prune juice should do the trick plus offering plenty of water

also, a warm bath and bicycling legs can help (rubbing tummy in a clock wise motion too)

bananas can bung babies up quite badly ...

apple juice can also do the trick

Warm bath and a massage worked for dd3 last week. Good luck!

My ds is 5.5 months and after going every day for his whole life has been only evry 3 days for last three weeks. Very weird, tried massage, bicycling, baths, etc. Doesn't seem to hurt him when does finally go (but needs a lot of nappies!) Do their digestions change around this age? He's only bf so not sure whether to try some fruit or something as uncharted territory, was waiting till 24/26 weeks. Any progress Skilbo?

Thanks for your suggestions all...

Tried her with some diluted apple juice with her brekky of pears and plums - local supermarket didn't have prunes so had to wait until this evening to stock up.

She had a poo this afternoon so not sure if she was just due or whether the breakfast had an effect but very glad. Not really dry either so don't think she is horribly bunged, just having an off day. Did also try the cycling thing as well!

Cheeselover - DD is also exclusively bf and had always hung onto her poo for at least two or three days. However, since weaning she had started going every day which is why this seemed a bit odd.

Anyways - off to pulp up some prunes and dried apricots. Thanks again for your advice
