do you offer water alongside the food?

Is your dd eating these food blw or puree?

I'm guessing that as she's 26 weeks you've only just started weaning, so maybe you need to give her less and slowly build the amount up.

If you are pureeing it is quite surprising how much food it takes to make a spoonful of puree.

I would also offer water, not a lot. Just a lidded beaker for her to learn what to do with it.

she'll learn quite quickly with a beaker. Maybe put some water in a beaker and leave it on the floor so she can play and practice whenever she fancies.

How about using a doiddy cup with meals? I think they're great when you're weaning your lo.

It's up to you what method of weaning you choose. If you want to puree maybe reduce the amount you are giving and see if that makes a difference? Or if you would like her to regulate her own appetite do blw and see if that helps.

My 6.5m baby also had been having some (seemingly) painful times with hard poo, this has now been solved by pureed prunes, about one tablespoon mixed in with his other fruit every other day. I have tried getting him to drink water but he has not quite got the hang of that yet.

My ds was the same and someone on here told me carrots could be constipating. I stopped carrot for a while and he was much better.

My DS is BLW and has been similar (31 weeks). He was crying with the pain of pooing at the start, it was horrible! He has now got a lot better and now although he concentrates when he is doing a poo, he is in no pain and the poo is a lot softer.
Prunes work really well, I puree some and mix it in with weetabix or porridge. I also give him some canned prunes (softer than dried) to eat as finger food. He loves them. They contain a lot of sugar though, so maybe best not to give them too often. Satsumas also seem to help and I have steered clear of banana. I also offered BM as much as poss.
The beaker thing is hard, mine is only just getting the hang of it. I have had much more success with free flow beakers than non-spill ones.
Good luck - I hope things improve. It is a big change to their little systems!
