Can babies eat chestnuts?

We have just roasted a load of chestnuts and DH and me are munching through them. DD, 6.5 months is looking very interested can she eat them mushed up a bit.

I wouldn't at only 6 months. I'd leave it untill they are a year.

I'd probably let DD have some, so long as they are mushed up so not going to choke her. She's had stuff containing nuts since 6 months, just not whole nuts because of the choking risk.

thanks everyone. Not sure if there are going to be much left for her tea, DH and I are making pigs of ourselves!
