When can I let my 16 month old have sushi, soft cheese & pate?

My ds loves prawns and I have read conflicting advice about when he would be allowed sushi, brie, camembert, pate...

What advice would you give and has anyone had any problems with introducing any of these early?

Once they are over one, they can have all of those. Actually, DS had sushi with cooked fish in it from 7 months old.

Oh, let him have the lot. Once she hit 6 months let dd eat anything. She is 6 foot 13 year old who eats everything now (except broad beans, naturally) so didn't harm.

I let DD1 have soft goats cheese and pate pretty much as soon as we started weaning at 6 months. The only advice I could find (in the NHS book I think) said not to give them under 6 months.

now, this minute - all are fine from 6m, or certainyl form 12m (though watch salt levels in pate)

they are things to avoid when pregnant, which I assume he is not

thank you for your replies... no if he is pregnant its only with a gingerbread man!

My dd has been eating brie and camembert since about 8 months - only pasteurised mind, but to be honest, I think most supermarket stuff is pasturised, as is lots on food markets too. She loves it on toast.

I've never heard anything to the contrary - I thought it was just nuts and honey you had to wait until 12 months for?

I ate sushi whilst pregnant, but only from supermarkets. The fish has to be frozen which kills the parasites.

I give my 9 month old soft cheese and pate. Might want to go easy on the wasabi in the sushi though

DD is 8 months, and loves smoked salmon, pate, brie, etc. Stilton got a bit of a funny expression, but she still ate it.
