Stupid Question RE Tongue thrust reflex

I just want to say, I'm not asking because I'm thinking about weaning or anything like that, I just was curious!

The tongue thrust reflex, which apparently when it disapears, can be a sign of being ready to wean!

How can you tell its gone? is there like a test you can do? or is it guess work? I just ask because my DD who is nowhere near ready to wean has a game we play involving poking our tongues out and how would you tell the difference?

No one else knows how to tell either then?

Do you have anything safe you could put near her mouth, like a plastic medical syringe or a plastic spoon?

Have a go at actually putting it into her mouth as though you were feeding her. My DD's not yet 4 months but we have to use a dosing syringe for her medicine. If I put it straight in (as opposed to round the side of her tongue) the thrust reflex is very obvious
