BLW-past the inital stages, now what do you offer as a complete meal?

DD is 8mo, we've been BLW since 6mo. She's doing well, eating a variety of foods, though she has her favourites of course.I try to offer her whatever we are having, and this works well, but there are times when what we are having is no good for her, and she is also starting nursery in a month and I am planning what to give her for her lunches.

So...I'm after ideas for complete meals that I can offer her at times when our food is inappropriate and for her lunch box.I already give her savoury muffins/scones and mini quiches- but what would you offer with these for a complete meal? At the mo I seem to always fall back on cucumber sticks but don't want her to get stuck on them and not eat anyting else!

Ideas/inspiration v gratefully recieved!

Sandwiches, rice cakes, strips of pepper or cucumber sticks (always a favourite!) Chopped cherry tomatoes, chopped grapes, sticks of cheese, bits of ham, strawberriese, blueberries, raisins, biscuits, cake etc etc. Just normal packed lunch stuff really.

My BLW'ed DS ate all of this at that age - maybe not the raisins in higdsight as he didn't get his pincer grip till a bit later, but certainly all the rest.

Don't over think it - a bit of whatever's going is a great way to give a variety of normal foods.

Why would your food be inappropriate?

One of my lunchbox favourites is peas and/or sweetcorn. No need to cook! Just put some in a little tupperware box the night before, and it is ready to be eaten at lunchtime the following day. Cherry tomatoes, sweet pepper strips, carrot sticks (cooked or raw), baby sweetcorn (again, cooked or raw), satsuma segments, apple wedges (dip in lemon-and-water first, so they don't go brown), halved grapes, dried apricots cut into strips.

I used to make mini pizza'a with bread muffins, toasted with cheese, tomato plus some olive oil and basil. Fancier than cheese on toast but very easy.

Roast dinner is my favourite BLW meal, even a baby can pick up chunks of chicken, veg, potatoes and yorkshire puds. Bliss.
