Paediatrician says 4.5months is fine

I know that the general guidelines tell you to wean at 6months but my paediatrician has given me a guide stating that now (4.5months) I start giving baby cereales without gluten in the evening and morning feed and at 5.5months start on purées. I am finding the gluten thing hard as baby is on 100% breast milk and I have to pump and add the cereal to the bottle which is a real pain. As a consequence I have skipped the last two nights as baby doesnt seem to want the bottle. Am I a bad Mum or is it OK to start this process later?
We live in Madrid so not sure if it is a spanish thing (as maternity leave is only 16weeks and most mums cant breastfeed for more than 4 months).
Any help much appreciated!
Any

Hello, and thanks for the advice. The cereal without gluten is in powder form which is supposed to be mixed with milk to begin with so that it hardly thickens milk at all, so I dont think choking would be a problem, but I also do not think that baby´s gut has sealed as she still brings up a small amount of milk when being burped. Also she cannot sit unaided (and the only thing she does when confronted with a banana is disolve into a giggling fit...) Following your advice (and that of my mum!) i am going to stick to breast milk for the mo topped up with powdered if baby is still hungry in the evening. Obviously will tell paediatrician incase he thinks this is terribly wrong!!
Thanks again

adding anything but milk in a bottle is a bigg no no. I was told it can lead to tooth decay. Spoon feed the cereal. If baby won't take it off a spoon then maybe they arn't ready. Good luck
