It's FROM 6 months, right?

My ds is just 6 months, but can't sit up completely independently, isn't that big on shoving things in his mouth (compared to his older sister, who didn't stop) and actually doesn't seem 'interested' in food ie he has't tried to grab any when people have been eating near him. My instinct is that he doesn't actually 'need' food yet and to wait a few weeks before giving him his first broccoli floret. I know some people in the States who don't wean until 8 months, so I think this is okay, but can someone just reassure me?
He's exclusively bf and just over 14 lbs btw.

I think you are right - follow your instincts. I started offering DS solids at 6.5 mths but even then it was a while before he actually ate anything (BLW). 2.10 now and doesn't appear to have done him any harm .

I would trust your instincts but tbh I don't know much about leavving it later than 6 months although those who do baby led weaning say they often don't really eat the food in front of them properly until about 8 months anyway.

Re exclusive bf I don't know whther there might be an issue with iron but I could be wrong and it might be after 1 year that they need more iron.
