Ds2 will 8 months in 2 days. He was having a bottle on waking, one mid-afternoon and one at bedtime. For the last few days he doesn't want the morning bottle. I've tried about an hour after breakfast as well but he won't take any more the 2oz. His other 2 bottles are 6oz. He has milk on cereal and yoghurt. I'm a bit worried that he's a bit young to be down to 2 botlles already?

DD is 8 months too and often goes through periods of hardly drinking sny milk, except at bedtime.

I just make sure I offer lots of yoghurt, bits of cheese etc and make her porridge with formula if she doesn't drink anything in the morning

can u try morning bottle before breakfast. Perhaps make a smaller one of 4 oz. May be he is eating and becoming too full to have a bottle. If you are concerned about his milk consumption you would have to keep and eye on solids. I have the reverse problem. Too much milk too little solids.

My dd stopped taking milk at 6 months (she was bf but wouldn't take any milk after 6 months)
Ds bf untill he was 2 and really didn't want to stop then.
I would say let him stop if he wants to just make sure you give him extra calcium maybe a yohgurt for breakfast.

DS BF and now at 8 months is refusing one or two of his now only 3 daytime feeds a day - still one night time feed that I can't knock on the head due to hysteria on his part . DD fed until she was 2 so I am in shock and feel a bit rejected to be honest.

As long as eating well and drinking lots of other fluid then can't see a problem. Unless there are weight concerns

Thanks mums. I did check with the HV and she said that it was fine. It's nice to have the advice from other mums
