When I weaned DS, I was quite religious about making sure he had his pint of formula/day (minimum) in some form. I used a lot of it on his cereal and was really paranoid that it was important for iron.
Fast forward to now having a DD and 3yo DS and I don't think I've got time to be quite so anal about it! She is 6.5 months and having 3bfs and 1ff (7oz/200ml if she has it all) per day but I've gone straight to cow's milk on cereal (not that she is taking much breakfast yet). I'm going to introduce meat next week, so if she takes a decent amount of this, plus cheese/yoghurt, can I assume I've got it covered in terms of calcium and iron?
I would give her formula in a cup as a drink rather than cow's milk if/when we reach that stage. Can't remember how the whole process evolves!
