I've given my 9 (and a half) mnth old malt loaf today which he loved, but at the supermarket I noticed packets of raisins said not suitable for children under 12 months, have I done the wrong thing???

Thanks

I gave DS raisins at about 10 months I think. There's less danger of choking when they're baked in something anyway, so I wouldn't worry.

Some of those baby/toddler snacks have weird age restictions on - I think it's mainly to get you to buy more!

I have a craving for malt loaf now. Lovely stuff

Not sure but DS2 has been having them for at least 2 months - so that will have been from 9 months old. Keeps him occupied for ages chasing them round his high chair tray

DS had raisins alone as soon as he had his pincer grip, so around 8 months. He was happily feeding himself peas etc and ate raisins in hot cross buns from very early on, so I couldn't see the problem. We've never had so much as a gag on a raisin.

DD has had them since she could pick them up herself, from about 7-8 months I think. But they did always come out in her nappy completely whole!

yes, DS had raisins from whenever he could eat them - maybe 7 or 8 months?
DD almost had one the other day - she is 5 weeks
(DS decided she was upset and a raisin might make her feel better!)
