Switching to cow's milk

DD is 1 next week and was BF to 8 months and then has had follow-on formula twice a day since then.

Do we just switch straight to cow's milk or should it be introduced slowly in case it upsets her stomach? And how much milk does a 1-year old need per day?

I did it one feed at a time e.g. cows milk in the morning and formula at night. After a week or so (when there was no adverse reactions) I made the other feed cows milk too. I just offered the same amount of cows milk as I already gave of formula.

Thanks Seona, DH suggested we try it in her cereal first as well as doing what you said.
