Custard for a six month old

I've given my sixth month old baby custard. Loved it. Then I thought oops, I think he may be a bit young. He is week 3 of weaning, first week of three meals a day.
(I even pureed up apple crumble - mainly the apple - with custard today, which he also loved...)

was it homemade or shop bought? Just watch out for sugar content but apart from that it is another source of calcium

My daughters 5 months old, and my HV has suggested to me, to give her custard and mashed banana togeva, its beta than the puds in jar etc, n less sugar

It was shop bought, not home made! The Ambrosia ones in the packs of four little tubs.

For a five momth old, I think the mashed banana on its own would be more than enough. If you want to get the calories up, try cream instead.

Just to add - no cream (dairy) til over 6 months!
