As a once off would you give an 11 month old a Potato Waffle for lunch?

Dh's car wouldn't start this morning so he took mine. Now have no way to get to the shops. Have a lovely home cooked chicken casserole on for this evening but won't be ready for ages and dd2 is hungry.

Already gave her toast which she ate but have nothing at all quick to give her.

Do you think just once would be ok? I know she would enjoy it!

If you did it everyday there might be a risk of salt overload maybe but as a one off when the alternative is a screaming starving DC I would not hesitate for a second and give her the waffle!

Well for future referance it usually says on the packaging how much salt there is per waffle/fishfinger/sausage/other foodstuff - and the guideline maximum per day for a 6-12 month old is 1g. (2g for a 1-3 year old) It's a guideline so it doesn't mean they will explode if they go over it though, it just helps to gauge portion sizes etc.

Thanks Bertie. Box says 0.5g of salt per waffle which is a lot but as it is a once off I think it is ok. She is eating it now and enjoying
