Coconut - a silly question

Is it a nut? Do I need to avoid it until dd is one? I want to cook with some tonight but I dont know if it's ok for dd (8.5 months) to have it.

Any ideas?

There are issues with nuts because of choking and if you have a family history of nut allergies.

So if you are making something with some coconut milk or flakes, you should be fine (unless you have history of family allergies).

Word of warning...

Coconut milk is a natural laxative so dont use too much!!

DH and I discovered this whilst on holiday in the caribbean from drinking too many delicous cocktails!
