Just that really. When can you start giving babies tap water instead of cooled boiled water?

When they reach 6 months.

FaintlyMacabre · 17/09/2009 16:41

I did from 6 months.

I have been giving cooled boiled water until now and DD is 11 months.

It just occurred to me that it might not be necessary any more!

Thanks guys!

Thank god for that!

I've been giving tap water to my six month old for the past couple of weeks.

My baby group think I'm about to kill him.

The way I reasoned is that if he picks everything up and shoves it in his mouth (including the dog) then why should I bother boiling?

I thought it was a year but the water in the kettle never seems to be cool enough when I need it so DD (11 months) has had tap water a few times. Same thought as SofaKing re eating everything she can get her hands on

Yes, it's 6 months. Still boiled water for formula until 1 year though

I think some baby books say 12 months for tap water, Annabel Karmel's weaning guide does.
