How many weeks do you start BLW at?

Pedant question... our baby is 23 weeks and has had a bit of carrot and brocolli from my plate. Is it too soon to put some bits on her tray? Does it have to be exactly 26 weeks/six months before you can try BLW? Thanks!

I let DS start at 24 weeks but he had had a little taste before then. I think the principle is, if they are old enough to pick it up and eat it, they can eat it (except for a bag of peanuts etc, obv!)

when their hands work and they can reach and grab?

DS took a bit of melon off me today and put it to his mouth, he's not quite 22 weeks. Will I damage him for life if I let him do it again?
He initially looked very confused, then gave me a big smile and dropped the melon, so I don't think he's ready to start chewing on things, but is it OK to let him have a taste of food?

We started BLW arounf 5.5 months, just fruit and veg and only the odd meal here and there.

Vizzle did she manage to chew and swallow it? If so then I would go with the flow.

Yes, she's kind of gumming the food - and using her one new tooth!

I just went to a Thai restaurant and she grabbed a dim sum off my plate and put it in her mouth. She soon spat it out again though.

Seems to be enjoying it!
