BLW - any tips for dealing with apples? DS keeps choking...

Hi,

Looking for ways of giving DS (nearly 6 months) apple without him choking. Tried it twice now, once as a lumpy apple sauce (before I started weaning proper) and earlier today when he had a gnaw on the apple I was eating. Both times he got a bit lodged in the back of his throat, then choked, coughed and finally threw up (including his last milk feed).

So now I'm a bit leery of offering him apple again until he's a bit older.

Am I being over cautious, or should I carry on and keep very alert?

Or can anyone suggest ways of offering apple which give the taste and nutrients but in a softer format. Preferably with minimal cooking as I'm a lazy mummy .

Thanks!

what about grated in porridge or yoghurt?

I boiled some apple in water recently and it was very soft but still in slices so DS was able to hold it and eat it (and he has no teeth).
