Gah so fed up of offering different stuff and ending meal by giving her banana and apple, banana with rice, etc. She tentatively bit a piece of chicken today then spat out, has looking utterly horrified everytime I give her potato - she spat out rice with tomato sauce today also, not happy about texture I think. She is v small so I have to keep giving her banana stuff to make sure she gets enough cals etc. She is already on hi energy milk as advised by docs.

Please give me some success stories of the wondrous day your children began to enjoy savoury foods!!

Never never never never never. She will live on bananas her whole life. This is hte truth, don't let anyone tell you anything else.

Oh OK, sorry. I wouldn't worry about it as she's still pretty little. You can try mushing avocado in with it, gradually lessen the amount of banana and increase the amount of avocado etc.

She will get on to savouries. They say a food has to be presented/tried up to 20 times before they accept it happily. Don't waste time counting, just translate as "many many many many many many many many many...." you get my drift.

(PS bananas and avocados are apparently the only foods on which one could live perfectly healthily without ever eating anything else)

have you tried really cheesy things like cauliflower cheese or pasta with a cheesy sauce? my son is 8 months and anything cheesy goes down a treat - must be similar to the milky tastes they are used to!
