my little girl is 8 months old and has always taken smooth food really well, in the last week i have started giving her some finger food after she has had the smooth to make sure she is getting something down her. in the last couple of days she is refusing breakfast, lunch and dinner and has started waking up in the night from previously going down for 10-12 hours.
she cut her first tooth 3 weeks ago which coincided with me going back to work, do you think she is unsettled as gettign used to a new routine? and its all linked?

8 months is a really difficult time. It's something to do with development - a lot seems to kick off around this time and if teething is also thrown into the mix it's going to be a rough time. My ds was VERY difficult at this point.

He also goes right off food when teething - often for a week at a time. I have learned to accept that when he isn't hungry he just isn't hungry. Tempting him with healthy snacks and upping the milk a bit seems to see us through.

You going back to work is prob a factor but don't beat yourself up (usually the first instinct isn't it ?).

It will pass in 2 or 3 weeks I reckon.
