I'm so confused about whether I can give my seven month old hard unpasteurised cheeses like emmenthal or gruyere. I know I can't give him soft unpasteurised cheese but what about hard? Hope someone can help!

I though the whole unpasteurised cheese warning-thingummy only applied to pregnant ladies, non?
Good luck with getting him to take gruyere though.
Anyway, hard cheeses are fine.

thanks
just it's got gruyere and emmenthal in some baby recipes, not sure if they mean them to be pasteurised but I can't find any pasteurised versions of these cheeses. Not planning to give them plain, that would be pushing his tastebuds I think!

if they are in recipes does that not mean they will get cooked and that would kill any bacteria anyway?
