Hello all, I'm wondering if anyone can throw any light on my situation. DS is 6mths and just started weaning, until now exclusivley BF. He has been a little under the weather with a cold and been off is food - I have given him a very small amount of Plum organic fromage frais, strawberry and chamomille (suitable from 4 mths). He started to sneeze and got a red rash but then calmed down. I have eaten/drank dairy products throughout my pregnancy and continue to do so. As anyone had a similar experience? Thanks

strawberry can be really allergenic. has he had reactions to anyhting else?

Donada · 29/04/2009 19:43

No nothing at all. He has had majority homemade veg/fruit purees and a few jars/sachets and we had no reaction at all. In fact I had been overjoyed with his progress.

with saying he got a red rash i was thinking more likely allergic to strawberry than dairy.

offer something different and be prepared for him to only take small amounts if recovering form a cold. as long as getting lots of milk, no need to panic

Thanks Lulumama - I'm hoping that's the case - just looked on one of the jars which contains milk and he hasn't reacted to that. Will try some other flavour and avoid the strawberry!
