Courgettes - to peel or not to peel, that is the question

Making some courgette puree for DS as a first weaning food. Do I need to peel before steaming / pureeing it?

I didn't. DS loves them :-)

it will be very watery - have you any baby rice you could mix with it to thicken it up?

ChocOrange05 · 29/04/2009 16:33

I will probably mix it with some sweet potato - would that work?

Courgette and sweet potato went down well with DS. Added some mill and butter to make it a bit creamier too.

Always left the skins on and just mashed with a fork.

I remember doing courgette puree once and it was a disaster. DS wouldnt take a bit of it and I couldnt figure it out until I tasted it .... grim indeed! And I love courgettes. Definitely mix it up with something else. Sweet potato a great idea.
