DS coming up to one. I want to get him some proper metal cutlery, but not sure what I'm looking for and where to get. Something 'nice' would be nice as I'm going to wrap them up as a present!

They're not that 'nice' but the tommee tippee ones are good, with blue and green handles I think - cos the forks actually stab things. A lot of the other stuff is so rounded (safety, I guess, though seems daft to me) that you can't pick up anything on the damn things. And the TT spoons are a nice shape - not too big.

Ikea do a decent set too, although ours was a present and came with two bowls/plates so not sure if they can be bought separately.

My baby girl got this fab set for her baptism and it's reduced to a fiver!! I'm tempted to buy several for gifts, it really is lovely. It's smaller and chunkier than any of the other children sets we have.

That's a lovely set tassisssss, but I think the TT ones are more what I was after. Until Cath Kidston makes some!

I got some nice metal cutlery with plastic handle, has a picture of Mr Bump on them. Think they were about £2 from Tesco

The nicest sets are Crocodile Creek: lovely design and very hard wearing. It's a whole set w plate, cup, bowl and cutlery, so not exactly what you had in mind, but makes a lovely present. Look on amazon.

I got one for dd and I love it.

Oh and my DS loves them, stabbing bits of pasta and grapes (not at the same time) with his fork!

This set is brilliant. Well worth the money IMO.
