Help: Strong start to weaning and now back to square one

I started weaning Dd1 at 21 weeks (she's a big girl) and she was loving everything I gave her and gobbling it all up. However, she caught a stomach bug last Friday (vomited twice and some diarrohea since)and now won't touch any solids and screams when I offer them. She's been slightly off her milk but now back to taking full feeds. She's now 24 weeks and is due to start nursery at 26 weeks hence why I wanted to give her a good start at weaning before she started nursery. Suspect it's more my issue than hers and that she'll take them when she's ready. All advice/reassurance gratefully received.

you have to chill out - you shouldn't get your DD to take solids early just because you're going back to work. your nursery can do what's necessary at the time. it is more your issue and yes she'll take them when she's ready - I think you know this already!

I would just try and be as relaxed as possible about it in case she picks up on your emotions.

Are you formula feeding or breastfeeding? If you are breastfeeding does she take a bottle? If she has a bottle fine then really dont worry about her having solids before nursery - they can, and are used to, doing that and can follow whatever directions you give her.

As some reassurance - my DD started nursery at just over 6 months. She had only been on a few tastes of solids for a week (BLW) and was exclusively breastfed and not taking a bottle. Nursery have worked really well with her - offer her a range of things (BLW and some purees if she wants them) and go with her hunger.

xx

Sorry to intrude on this thread but... peppapighastakenovermylife what did you do regarding milk when your LO started nursery if she was exclusively BF? Express or formula? Did she just take a bottle when at nursery? It's just that I am in the same boat with my DD who starts nursery in a month. I was planning to start introducing formula in a bottle this week but she fell sick and has thwarted my plans!
