how old is he and how much milk he's having?personally I started with lunch and then introduced tea after a while, breakfast was the last and i think my dd was nearly 8 months by the time she started having 3 meals per day.don't worry your ds will let you know when he's ready for it.

OneTiredFox · 24/04/2009 21:40

DD is 26 weeks and I have been weaning for about 8 weeks, just increased to 3 meals a day this week, but the teatime meal is mostly finger food which she plays with/throws about and maybe a bit of yoghurt. Main meals are still brekkie and lunch.

Ds is 28 weeks. Weaned from 23 weeks and on three meals for the last three weeks or so although lunch is usually just nibbles of whatever I'm having.

he is 23 weeks and i rekon have been weaning about 8 weeks (due to medical issues and under paed care before anyone has a go! )

we have obv been going slow. when you say your LO has whatever ypour having do you mean pureed or are you giving lumps already? when do you introduce more lumpy food?? doesnt have any teeth yet

I give exactly what I have lumps and all. DS has no teeth yet but that doesn't stop him being able to chew small chunks of meat, fruit, cooked veg, tbh anything that goes in gets a good chewing.

He sometimes has mashed food when we need a meal to be over pretty quickly but I gave up on attempting to purée anything after a week or so as he'd take chunks of food quite happily so it wasn't worth the effort.

ds1 went from nothing to 3 meals in 6 days, he was 17 weeks at the time (a few years ago!).

ds2 wasn't interested in food until he was nearing 1y.
