night feeding

Does anyone else have a baby who fed every two hours at night at the age of 6 months and if so, how did you stop it? My HV suggests going cold turkey and stopping all night feeds but I don't think the whole family could go through a week of all night screaming.. Neither of my other 2 did this!

My DS2 was feeding nearly this often at 7 months and we did just go cold tukey, for night feeds and his dummy too!

I kept the dreamfeed going until he was about 10 months though, but then refused to feed him until 6am.

It took 3 nights of frequent wakings when we would only shush and pat him until he resettled.

TBH I thought it was going to be much harder work than it was. Hope you find the same if you decide to go for it!

Thanks - I'll have a go!

Yes and couldn't stop it: small house and ds1 asleep next-door so we couldn't put up with the outraged roaring refusing would induce. So we just kept co-sleeping for loner and gradually managed to get him into his cot in between and doing shorter and shorter feeds. Good luck with whatever you decide.
