BLW: When did your lo really start to 'get' it?

My nearly 11mo dd still isn't really eating much at all. She loves playing with the food and tasting it too but not much goes down. The 'food is for fun until you're one' thing is beginning to feel like a bit of a deadline! So when did your dc really start to get the hang of this eating lark?!

How many adults do you know that only drink milk. A month/a year here and there in the early years means nothing in the great scheme of things.

I started blw when my ds was exactly 6 months and I was surprised that he ate alot from the beginning. He is now 9 months and eats far more than his 2 year old sister!

How do GPs respond when they hear that that baby's diet is still mostly milk? is it an issue?

Everyone in my nct group is motoring ahead with solids and my dd is going rather slowly, still taking quite a lot of milk - but we're only a few weeks into weaning. I'm not concerned but obviously feel like the odd one out... She has been ill with a cough that's turned into a chest infection so I hope her appetite will pick up after she gets better.

Stick with it, I can't remember the exact time she got it ikywim? she is now 21 months and eats better when others are around.....peer pressure and all....demands fruit after every meal

She goes through fits and starts, soup she will clean the bowl up but won't eat bread, if i put small bits in she will play with it but nothing more...

If I give her sarnies she takes the filling out and eats that picks at things like pickle or mayo....

with CM and other children she eats better...I think its like adults somedays you eat more than others

Its finding what they like and dislike and sometimes the timing of meals ;-) the only bread I can easily get my DD to eat is garlic bread ;-)

Just bumping for you(and me!). I was about to post the same thing. I have an 11 month old DS who is not eating many solids either. He loves playing with the food, chewing/gumming it, but ultimately spits it out...I agree that the 12 month 'deadline' seems to be looming. It's getting disheartening cleaning up all the mess after every meal and snack knowing that he has actually consumed very little.
