butternut squash

I have a butternut squash but, err, what am i supposed to do with it ?!
(clean answers only pleased, in context of baby weaning !!!!!)

if you cut it into chunks, spray with a little olive oil, then roast it, it will be lovely and soft and sweet and you can scoop the flesh out and mash it.

Or you could peel and chop it, steam it, and mash it. Not as sweet and nice, but no oil.

Ds2 loved this when he was a baby. I just cut it in half, scooped out the seeds, did the olive oil like astrophe and roasted. Then scooped out portions to puree. I froze what he didn't eat at that meal in ice cube trays so that I could thaw out just a couple at a time.
