green purees

DS is almost 8 months and doing pretty well with solids most days. I've been making purees and have a nice colourful array in my freezer, but I'm a little worried he might be over dosing on orange stuff (my dh commented that I might be turning him orange with carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, lentils...) I read somewhere you're only supposed to feed them that kind of stuff 4 times a week, so I wanted some ideas for green things I can feed him. He eats peas, green beans and brocolli. Any other suggestions? I'm guessing cabbage & sprouts are too gassy? Thanks.

My friend's DS did turn orange because he ate so much orange stuff. People would stop and ask if he was ok.

Does it have to be green stuff? What about:

spinach
avocado
corn
cauliflower
apples
pears
bananas
prunes
apricots

I am sure small quantities of cabbage and sprouts is ok.

My nephew went orange. Oddly carrots are one of the only things he won't eat now,

Courgette makes a lovely bright green puree. Beetroot is good too.

But never give beetroot to a baby who has recently been bathed. And make sure all floors, walls, and anything within splattering distance are wipeable. Also, remove all clothing. A bib is not sufficient.

Good point. Naked and outside in an Ikea highchair and hosepipe on standby is best.

Yes they can have cheese at 8mo by the way Although it has to be pasteurised I think so not brie or anything like that.
