How old is your ds out of interest? We have only been blw for a week and I am amazed to see my 6 month old dd tucking into toast and broccoli (definite faves so far!) Can't wait until she understands messy stuff can be eaten too, so far she has just been horrified by mashed potato and pasta with sauce!

At the present moment in time beef stew.

GiraffeAHolic · 14/03/2009 14:28

My DD is 7.5 mths are prefers finger foods she can just pick up.. favs are toast, crumpets, roast prsnips, cumcumber and Melon. Absolute fav is Garic Bread!

She refuses to touch anything messy. ie sheperds pie or lasagne. Not sure if shes just still to learn scooping things up with her hands or shes just being a complete girl and not wanting to get her hands dirty!
She has tried yoghurt by taking a loaded spoon off me but hated the texture in her mouth and has refused that too every since. Think she just prefers food she can actually handle.

My dd (10.5mo) prefers stuff that's easy to pick up - she doesn't "get" scooping and so there hasn't been much mushy stuff at our house so far. She just spreads mushy stuff all over the high chair tray or makes "pictures" with it! She also has been highly suspicious of "mixed" foods, likes sauces, soups and pies etc until very recently. I was so chuffed today when she ate my lentil lasagne and yesterday she ate my chickpea and spinach curry!

I'm hoping we'll get on to more and more "mixed" and mushy food, but other than that she is a great wee eater. She loves pasta and Philly and peas, pear, corn on the cob, Greek yoghurt, porridge and Weetabix (she's very good at feeding herself with a spoon) and adores green veggies like steamed spinach, green beans, broccoli, oh and she loooves cheese, omelette, and rice. Hopefully we'll have more success with "dishes" like Shepherd's pie etc soon, but I can't complain!

I mean like sauces, soups, pies etc - i.e., she hasn't liked them so far!

SparklyGothKat · 15/03/2009 15:43

roast dinner, with loads of peas

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 16/03/2009 19:43

She loves poached salmon in curry sauce on pasta, avocado and asparagus. She really loves anything fish related, plain or saucy.

Check out my profile for a picture of DS chowing down on pasta and tomato sauce. Funnily enough this is probably the meal I've cooked and eaten most in my life, so I'm well pleased he likes it too

Although tbh so far he will eat anything, the gannet.
