Blowing raspberries (along with mouthfuls of food!)

I'm new to mumsnet - Hi!
My 8mth old has started to blow 'raspberries' with each mouthful of food, maybe a quarter/half way through, hence it goes everywhere. On solids since about 5mths. Only does this with savoury food - absolutely loves fruit purees (mango and plum her favourites). Is she telling me she's had enough/doesn't like my home cooking? (making big effort to cook all my own stuff for her - hard work)

welcome

My DS does this too and unfortunately it makes me laugh so that's not much help as he does it more to get a response ! - he is nearly 14 months old.

Thanks for that sazlocks.. I know - it's so hard not to laugh. By the way - what are the abbreviations DS etc etc?

I think there is a list somewhere -
DS - Darling/dear son
DH - ..... husband
TBH - To be honest
FWIW for what its worth
FFS - For F@:~s sake !
IYKWIM - If you know what I mean

My DS (6 months) does this too - and I try not to laugh as I wipe peas off my face. He tends to do it with foods that aren't his favourite and he obviously thinks he is very funny indeed. I ignore him and he usually stops it after a while. I wouldn't worry - I'm sure your home cooking is lovely - they are just attention-seeking little monkeys!

If he is 8 months old, have you tried giving him chunks or chip-shaped bits of your food? He will be able to explore it a bit more then and might not raspberry it so much! Also means less work for you

thanks for the messages artifarti and CherryChoc. I've found that ignoring her antics is working.. a bit. BTW I said she was 8 mths - baby brain kicking in - she's only 7

My ds2 (10 months) does this too - I was considering cutting out the middle man and just throwing the food directly down my clothes. Might save time shovelling it into him first!

My DS (27 weeks)blows raspberries when he is happy.
I started weaning him a week ago.
He likes his food.
He blows raspberries when he is happy.
It is getting quite messy!

DD loves blowing raspberries. She blows them on any visible bit of my flesh to wake me up in the mornings and thinks it's hysterical.
