I started with puree as i did with other 2 but dd2 seems to prefer grabbing stuff from my hand and getting on with it herself so now doing blw. She has had all the usual veg and fruit but when i weaned other 2 i did just fruit veg and rice until 6 mnths then dairy stuff, chicken, pasta and fish from 6 and then red meats at 7/8 mnths. Is it the same principal with blw but you let them do it themselves.

basically when can i sit a bowl of pasta in front of her??

so far she has eaten by herself
brocoli
steamed apple
banana
orange
cucumber
toast with cream cheese
courgette
carrot
baked pot/sweet pot
cauli cheese
butternut squash
parsnip
rice rusks

she is 6 months this week

Yes, I believe that is the general idea!

Pasta contains gluten so it should be 6 months but if you have already given toast and DD was fine then you can give pasta now if you like. I would imagine just plain cooled pasta would be easiest to pick up as it's quite sticky, since sauce can make things a bit slippery (not to mention messy)

yeah she seems fine with gluten, only had bread in past week but no problems apparent.

i can't imagine a week or so making a hell of a difference.
Just we are having spag tonight and thought seeing as its organic too maybe she'd try some, will over cook hers so its really soft (yum)

On the first page of www.babyledweaning.com there is a brilliant picture of a 6 month old baby eating spaghetti bolognaise! Enjoy

well i put the spag down and its the first food i've offered that she point blank refused.

She also turned her nose up at the avocado tonight, wasn't keen before either... getting to have preferences... cheeky madam!

She got tucked into a rice biscuit with some banana porridge tho!

Thanks for link!

My DS preferred his spag bol without the spag - he had it on a rice cake to start with. We only started a tiny bit before 6 months, so gave him whatever he could manage at 6 months (with the normal honey/salt etc restrictions). We have a video of him eating roast diner on his 6 month birthday

fusili is easier to eat than spaghetti - give that a try?
